Zoey Toomgam got her start in gymnastics at the age of six. Zoey wanted to try gymnastics as her mom was a gymnast. She started off in recreational classes once per week and was invited to join the team program one year later.
Zoey began competing in the fall of 2019 as a level 3. At her first meet, Zoey came in fourth on vault with a 9.700 as well as fourth on beam. In her first year of competitive gymnastics, Zoey qualified to the Texas North State Championships where she earned a silver medal on vault and finished in the top 10 in the all around.
As a level 4 during the 2020-2021 season, Zoey won the bars, floor, and all around titles at the District 4 Championships. Two weeks later at the Texas North State Championships, Zoey finished in the top 10 on all four events and in the all around. Zoey concluded her season at the Texas Shootout in January 2021 where she earned a bronze medal on vault.
Currently, Zoey trains 20 hours per week under coaches Christy and Daire at Acrotex Gymnastics. Zoey's goal for her 2022 season is to get a 9.0 on each event. In the future, Zoey hopes to compete for UCLA Gymnastics.
