The 2019 Atlanta Crown Invitational took place during January 11-13 in Duluth, GA. This weekend was the first of Nastia Liukin Cup qualifying invitationals, and two gymnasts, one junior and one senior, qualified to the Nastia Cup from the invitational.
Junior qualifier, Gabrielle Gladieux, of High Point Gymnastics Academy, won the all around title in her age division with a 38.600. Gladieux also won the bars title with a 9.800 and the beam title with a 9.650. Out of all of the level 1o competitors, she had the third highest all around score. This will be Gabrielle’s second trip to the Nastia Liukin Cup after coming in second on vault, third on beam, and sixth all around at the 2018 Nastia Liukin Cup.
Hallie Thompson of Southeastern Gymnastics was the senior qualifier who won her age division, and had the highest level 10 all around score, with a 38.650. In addition to winning the all around title, Thompson also took home the vault and bars titles where she earned scored of 9.750 and 9.725, respectively. This will be Thompson’s first trip to the Nastia Liukin Cup; a great achievement for her last JO season.
