Coming off of a loss to Utah, the Stanford Cardinal impressed at home to defeat the Arizona Wildcats, posting a season-high score on senior night to win 196.525-195.250.
The Cardinal took a .05 lead after the opening rotation when they posted a 48.975 on vault. Rachael Flam and Aleeza Yu posted scores of 9.875 and a 9.850 for Stanford, respectively. The Wildcats trailed with a close 48.925 on bars. Despite a disappointing 8.650 from Mackenzie Kane, junior Christina Berg was able to pull through with a solid 9.850.
A 49.200 on bars in the second rotation saw the Cardinal pull farther ahead of the Wildcats. Two 9.875s from Madison Brunette and Kyla Bryant highlighted the rotation for Stanford, allowing them to tally their highest event total of the season. On the opposing side, a 9.825 on vault from Adra Parks allowed the Wildcats to post a 48.725.
Another season-high 49.125 on beam brought the Cardinals even closer to victory and a breakthrough, season-high performance. Wesley Stephenson posted a high of 9.875 for Stanford, another very clean routine for the Cardinal. For Arizona, Berg also posted a high of 9.875 on floor leading the Wildcats to total a 48.825.
Stanford sealed the meet with an impressive 49.225 on floor.
