Reese Koser began gymnastics at the age of five and immediately fell in love with the sport; she began competing in 2016 as a level 3 with SCEGA Gymnastics. Reese had a fantastic first season and finished first all around at the SoCal Level 3 South State Championships. In the fall of 2017, Reese competed one meet as a level 4 where she won 3 events and the all around, and then continued to compete level 5 for the rest of the season. At the SoCal South Level 5 State Championships, Reese finished second on all four events and in the all around.
Reese’s optional “career” began in January 2018 as a level 6. Her first meet of the season was the California Grand Invitational where she won the bars and all around titles. Reese went on to compete at the SoCal State Championships where she won the beam, floor, and all around titles. From state, Reese qualified to be a member of the SoCal State Team for regionals. At regionals, Reese won the beam title as well as taking home silver medals for bars and the all around.
Testing out of level 7, Reese began her 2019 level 8 season at the California Grand Invitational where she won the beam and all around titles. Although she had a great start to her season, Reese unfortunately was only able to compete three meets during the season and had to end her season early due to an elbow injury. However, Reese is expected to come back strong for the 2020 season.
Currently, Reese trains 23 hours per week under coaches Terry Gray, Kathy Strate, Marci Hauser, Ryan Covo, and Brian Bauman at SCEGA Gymnastics. In the future, Reese hopes to earn a college scholarship for gymnastics.
