Biography
Mila Morris got her start in gymnastics at the age of four after her mom noticed how much energy she had. Mila had also tried ballet, but it was too slow for her, so she was enrolled in her first gymnastics class and took to it right away! Mila began competing in the fall of 2017 as a level 2 with Eagle Gymnastics Academy. As a level 2, Mila took fifth on vault at the Texas State Championships.
Following her 2017 level 2 season, Mila began training at WOGA and competed level 3 during the fall 2018 season. As a level 3, Mila qualified to the Texas North State Championships where she finished fifth on beam. During the spring of 2019, Mila competed two meets of level 4 and then went on to compete level 5 during the fall 2019 season. Mila completed her level 5 season at the Texas State Championships and finished in the top 5 on beam and floor.
Mila began her optional career in January 2020 as a level 7 at the Texas Prime Meet. Here, Mila finished eighth on vault. Mila continued to improve throughout the season and competed her last meet before the season was unfortunately canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic at the WOGA Classic. Here, Mila earned a bronze medal on vault.
Currently, Mila trains 30 hours per week under coach Evgeniya Golovach at WOGA. Mila's goal for her 2021 level 8 season is to make America's Top 100 for an event, finish on the podium in the all around, and score a 38.00. In the future, Mila hopes to qualify elite and earn a college scholarship for gymnastics.
