MiaCamila Robelo began gymnastics at the age of six as she was a very strong and energetic child and her friends and family suggested she try a gymnastics class. From her first class, MiaCamila loved gymnastics. MiaCamila began competing in 2014 as a level 1 with Florida Gymnastics Training Center. After winning the vault, bars, beam, and all around titles at the Florida State Championships, MiaCamila competed level 3 the next season.
As a level 3, MiaCamila had a fantastic season and swept all four event titles and the all around with a huge 39.250 at the Florida State Championships.
During the summer of 2016, MiaCamila participated in TOPs Testing and made it to National Testing. From National Testing, MiaCamila was invited to Developmental Invite Camp.
MiaCamila began her optional career in 2018 as a level 7 and went on to win the bars title at state. Following her level 7 season, MiaCamila began training with Leyva Gymnastics Academy. In 2019, MiaCamila competed level 9 and Hopes; she began her level 9 season at the Arnold Gymnastics Challenge where she finished in the top 5 on bars and beam.
Currently, MiaCamila trains 32 hours per week under coaches Maria Gonzalez, Jeanne Barrera, and Billy Abrehu at Leyva Gymnastics Academy. MiaCamila's goal for the 2019 season is to qualify to the Hopes Classic. In the future, MiaCamila hopes to earn a spot on the US National Team and earn a division 1 college scholarship for gymnastics.
