Mia Bolesnikov got her start in gymnastics at the age of three after she was always trying to copy a neighbor who was doing handstands and cartwheels. Mia's parents signed her up for recreational classes, and she loved being in the gym from the start.
Mia began competing in fall 2018 with Arizona Sunrays Gymnastics as a level 2. At her first meet, the NAWGJ Judges Diamond"bucks" Meet, Mia earned a bronze medal on beam. In November at the Arizona State Championships, Mia came in second on floor, third on beam, and sixth all around. During the spring 2019 season, Mia competed three more meets of level 2.
Following her 2018-2019 level 2 season, Mia and her family moved to Texas and Mia began training at Metroplex Gymnastics. Mia competed level 3 during the fall 2019 season. After her 2019 season, Mia began training at Kurt Thomas Gymnastics. Mia competed a second season of level 3 in 2020 and began her season at the Texas Judges' Cup where she won the beam title and came in third on floor and in the all around. From her district qualifiers, Mia qualified to the District 3 Championships where she finished in the top 10 on beam and floor. From the District Championships, Mia qualified to the Texas North State Championships. Unfortunately, four days prior to the meet Mia got sick and was unable to compete.
Currently, Mia trains 12 hours per week under coaches Anna, Jen, Jess, and Ricel at Texas Best Gymnastics. Mia's goal for her 2022 season is to score a 38.00 in the all around at state. In the future, Mia hopes to earn a college scholarship for gymnastics.
