McKenna Bailey began her journey with gymnastics in Seattle, WA when she was 6.5 years old. In May of 2017 she was invited to join team where she trained and then competed level 3 in the spring of 2018 with Auburn Gymnastics. In her first season of competitive gymnastics, McKenna finished second on beam at the Washington State Championships. McKenna competed level 4 during the fall 2018 season and finished second on bars at the Fall State Championships.
In the spring of 2019, McKenna and her family moved to Alabama as McKenna's dad is currently serving in the U.S. Coast Guard. McKenna began training at Planet Gymnastics and competed level 5 during the fall of 2019. As a level 5, McKenna won the all around title at three meets in a row and at the Blue Gray Invitational she swept all four events and the all around. At the Alabama State Championships, McKenna won the bars title and earned silver medals on beam and in the all around.
McKenna began her optional career in February 2020 as a level 6. At her first meet, McKenna won the vault, bars, beam, and all around titles. Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, McKenna's season was cut short as the remainder of the season was canceled.
Currently, McKenna trains at Gymsport Gymnastics. McKenna's goal for the 2021 season is to compete level 8. In the future, McKenna hopes to earn a college scholarship for gymnastics at LSU.
