Biography
McKenna Bailey began her journey with gymnastics in Seattle, WA when she was 6.5 years old. In May of 2017 she was invited to join team where she trained and then competed level 3 in the spring of 2018 with Auburn Gymnastics. In her first season of competitive gymnastics, McKenna finished second on beam at the Washington State Compulsory Championships. McKenna competed Level 4 with Auburn Gymnastics during the Spring 2019 season. At the Snowball Classic, she placed first on floor, vault and first all around.
In February 2019, McKenna’s family moved to Alabama while her dad deployed overseas. She began training at Planet Gymnastics, home of Olympic Gold Medalist, Vladimir Novikov. McKenna competed level 5 in the Fall of 2019. During her level 5 season, McKenna won the all around title at three meets in a row and at the Blue Gray Invitational she swept all four events and the all around. At the Alabama State Championships, McKenna won the bars title and earned silver medals on beam and in the all around.
McKenna began her optional career in February 2020 as a level 6. At her first meet, McKenna won the vault, bars, beam, and all around titles. Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, McKenna's season was cut short as the remainder of the season was canceled.
Currently, McKenna trains at X-Cel Gymnastics on the Xquisite Gymnastics Team. In the future, McKenna hopes to earn a college scholarship for gymnastics to LSU or University of Alabama.
