Mallory Barron began gymnastics at the age of seven after watching and being inspired by the 2012 Olympic Games. After taking two weeks of classes, Mallory was invited to join American Gymnastics Academy's team program. Mallory began competing in fall 2013 as a level 3 and began her season at the Southern California Compulsory Meet where she finished in the top 10 on vault, bars, and in the all around. In 2014, Mallory competed one meet of level 3 at the Long Beach Open in which she placed third on beam and floor. Mallory did not compete during the fall 2014 season in order to prepare for her 2015 season and would skip levels 4 and 5.

Mallory's optional career began in 2015 as a level 6 at the Lady Luck Invitational where she finished in the top 10 on bars and floor. Mallory continued to improve throughout the season and finished her season at the SoCal State Championships and finished in the top 10 on bars and beam.
