Maddie Nichols began gymnastics at two years old in a mommy and me class at Castle Rock School of Gymnastics. Maddie quickly progressed and even taught herself a back handspring by the age of three. In 2015, Maddie began competing as a level 3. Maddie had a solid first season of competitive gymnastics and finished fourth on beam at the Colorado State Championships. During the fall of 2016, Maddie competed a second season of level 3 and went on to earn third on bars at the Colorado State Championships.
During fall 2017, Maddie competed level 4. Maddie improved throughout the season and finished her season at the Colorado State Championships where she finished fourth on floor.
Maddie kicked off her 2019 level 7 season at the AGA Snowball Express where she finished in the top 5 on bars, floor, and in the all around. Two months later, Maddie competed at the Colorado State Championships and finished fourth all around. Maddie concluded her season at the Region 3 Championships where she had the best meet of her season, finishing in the top 10 on floor, 12th all around, and earning a personal best score on floor.
Maddie competed a second year of level 7 in 2020 and began her season at the AGA Snowball Express where she brought home silver medals on floor and in the all around.
Currently, Maddie trains 18 hours per week under coaches Brittany and Zach at Colorado Aerials Gymnastics. In the future, Maddie's goal is to earn a scholarship to Denver University for gymnastics.
