Biography
Lily Wilson got her start in gymnastics at the age of 7 after a friend of Lily's mom saw her doing pull overs at an amusement park. Lily fell in love with gymnastics right away and after a few short months was invited to train level 4 at Platinum Gymnastics Academy. Lily began competing at the age of six as a level 4 and at her first meet came home with fourth place on bars. In November at the SoCal State Championships, Lily finished sixth on bars.
Lily competed her first meet as a level 5 in February 2019 at the Long Beach Open. Here, Lily took fourth on vault and bars as well as fifth all around. During the summer of 2019, Lily participated in TOPs Testing and qualified to National Testing as one of the top 100 eight year olds in the country. Lily continued to compete level 5 during the fall season and continued to improve at each and every meet and even won the bars, beam, and all around titles at the World Elite Cup. Unfortunately, one week prior to the SoCal State Championships, Lily got injured and was unable to compete.
Lily began her optional career in January 2020 as a level 6. At her first meet of the season, the Palm Springs Cup, Lily earned a silver medal on beam with a 9.750 and took third on vault, bars, floor, and in the all around. Lily was able to compete two more level 6 meets before the season was unfortunately canceled due to COVID-19. At her final meet before the season was canceled, Lily won the vault, bars, and all around titles.
Competing Level 7 during the 2021 season, Lily began her season at the Buckeye Classic where she won the all around title.
Currently, Lily trains 18 hours per week at X-Cel Gymnastics on the Xquisite Gymnastics Team. Lily's goal for her 2021 level 7 season is to score a 38.0 in the all around. In the future, Lily hopes to earn a college scholarship to LSU for gymnastics.
