Lily started out ice skating, but once she took her first gymnastics class at Flips as a five year old, Lily decided to commit her time to gymnastics and quickly moved through the recreational levels and into the team program. At age seven, Lily competed her first meet as a level 3.
During the 2015 season as a level 5, Lily finished first on floor with a 9.550 at the Minnesota State Meet. Following her 2015 season, Lily became the first gymnast at Flips to skip a level mid-season and began competing level 7 during the 2016 season. Lily finished her level 7 season at the Minnesota State Meet where she finished in the top five on both vault and floor with scores of 9.400 and 9.500, respectively.
Lily began her level 8 season at the Peppermint Twist Meet where she won the vault title. Throughout the season, Lily continued to progress both skill-wise and score-wise. At the 2017 Minnesota State Meet, Lily finished second on vault, beam and the all around with a score of a 37.875. Her all around score and placement qualified Lily to be a part of the Minnesota Super 8 Regional Team; Lily is one of four gymnasts from her gym to make the State Super 8 Team in 2017. At the Region 4 Championships, Lily placed third on vault and beam as well as second on floor and in the all around with a 38.125, becoming one of two gymnasts from Flips to break a 38.0 in the all around.
At the beginning of the 2018 season, Lily's plan was to compete level 9 and Hopes. However, her coaches decided to have Lily skip level 9 and begin competing level 10. Lily began her level 10 season at the Gopher JO Invite where she won the all around title. Throughout the season, Lily improved on all four events and placed third all around at the Region 4 Championships, qualifying to the JO National Championships. At JO Nationals, Lily posted personal bests on three events and in the all around and placed fifth all around.
After JO Nationals, Lily went back to the gym to prepare for the upcoming Hopes Classic. On July 6, Lily competed in the Hopes Classic - her first real Hopes meet. Here, Lily had an amazing meet and walked away with a silver medal in the all around, a bronze medal on floor, and medals on vault and beam. Lily had punched her ticket to the Hopes Championships on July 27 in Columbus, OH. Lily had another great meet at Hopes Championships and earned the bronze medal on beam as well as medals on vault, floor, and in the all around.
Lily kicked off her 2018-2019 season at the Peppermint Twist Elite Compulsory Qualifier where she earned her junior elite compulsory score. In February, Lily competed at the Biles National Elite Qualifier where she had a solid competition and earned her Hopes 12-13 optional score, qualifying to the Hopes Classic. In March, Lily competed at the Minnesota State Championships where she won the beam title and took home silver medals on vault and in the all around.
In June 2019, Lily competed at the Hopes Classic where she had a great meet, earning a bronze medal on vault, and making it to the podium on bars, floor, and in the all around. From the Hopes Classic, Lily advanced to the Hopes Championships for her second year. Lily had a fantastic competition at the Hopes Championships, winning the floor title, taking second in the all around, and third on vault.
Following a fantastic Hopes season, Lily competed at the Metroplex National Elite Qualifier in January 2020. Here, Lily earned her junior elite qualifying score to qualify to the American and U.S. Classic competitions. Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Lily's season was cut short as the remainder of the season was canceled.
Due to the remainder of the 2020 season being canceled, USAG allowed for all Hopes and Elite Qualifiers to retain their qualifying score for the 2021 season. With this, Lily qualified to the 2021 US Classic as a junior elite.
Currently, Lily trains 25 hours a week under coaches Lori and Bart Roskoski, Theresa Jackson and Pete Lasch at Flips Gymnastics in White Bear Lake, Minnesota. In the future, Lily would like to be named to the US National Team as well as receive a gymnastics scholarship to a Division 1 School.
