Leanna Yeressian began gymnastics at age 4 at My Gym in Pasadena, CA and at the age of 5 enrolled in Club Champion’s rec program, and within a month, was advanced to Club Champion’s CAT Program (Children’s Accelerated Training).
In 2016, Leanna competed Level 4 where she earned a First Place win on Beam at the So Cal State Championships with a score of 9.700.
During the summer of 2017, Leanna trained with Olympian Houry Gebeshian in Cleveland, Ohio at Gym World, who was the first female gymnast to represent Armenia at the Olympics and created a new skill on the Bars called “The Gebeshian.” In the Fall of 2017, Leanna competed at SoCal’s First Prelim where she earned Gold on Vault, Bars, Beam, Floor, and All-Around. Leanna also earned the Team Spirit award by Club Champion at the Annual Awards banquet.
In 2018, Leanna competed Level 6 and earned First Place on Vault, Floor, and All-Around at the San Diego Classic. At Chris Waller’s Heart of a Champion Invitational, a Nastia Liukin Cup Series, Leanna went on to earn First Place on Vault and was awarded the prestigious Heart of a Champion award by the Beam Judges. At the SoCal State Championships, Leanna earned 2nd Place on Beam and 3rd All-Around qualifying her for the Region 1 Championships. Finishing up her Level 6 season at the Regional Championships in Arizona, Leanna took Gold on Floor, Silver on Beam, and Bronze on Vault.
Leanna began her 2019 level 7 season at the Brestyan's Las Vegas Invitational. Here, she took first on vault and beam and third on floor. In March, Leanna competed at the SoCal State Championships where she had her best meet of the season so far, placing third on vault and sixth all around. Leanna concluded her season at the Region 1 Championships where she had a fantastic meet, taking home the silver medal on vault and floor and finishing fifth all around.
Competing level 8 in 2020, Leanna began her season at the OC Classic where she finished third on vault. Leanna improved throughout the season and had her best meet of her season at the Corona Open. Here, Leanna won the floor title. Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Leanna's season was cut short as the remainder of the season was canceled. Following her 2020 season, Leanna began training at The Klub Gymnastics.
Currently, Leanna trains under coaches Colden Raisher, Brian Johnson, and Denise Pearlman at The Klub Gymnastics. Leanna's goal for the 2021 season is to qualify fo the Region 1 Championships.
