Layla Holey got her start in gymnastics at just 18 months old as she was always moving around and trying to tumble as a baby. Layla loved being in gymnastics from the start and was eventually invited to join the team program at Gymnastic Center of Hershey.
Layla began competing in December 2019 as a level 3 at the Silvia Mitova Invitational. Here, Layla won the bars and all around titles. At her next meet, the Dave Moskovitz Invitational, Layla won the floor and all around titles. Layla was able to compete three more meets before the season was canceled due to COVID-19. Layla had her best scoring meet of her season at the Hug and Kiss Meet where she finished third on bars, floor, and in the all around.
Competing level 4 in 2021, Layla began her season at the Katie Baldwin Invitational. Two weeks later at the Parkettes Invitational, Layla came in third on floor. In March at the Pennsylvania State Championships, Layla came home with a gold medal on bars and top five finishes on floor and in the all around.
Layla began her optional career in December 2021 at Christmas on the Chesapeake where she came in sixth on vault and beam.
Currently, Layla trains 16 hours per week under coaches Gabi, Jen, Greg, Katie, and Andy at Gymnastic Center of Hershey. Layla's goal for her 2022 season is to score a 37.800 in the all around. In the future, Layla hopes to represent Team USA at the Olympic Games and compete for a college gymnastics program.
