Lauren Rice got her start in gymnastics at the age of five in classes with friends. Lauren loved being in the gym from the beginning and was eventually invite to join the team program at Five Star Gymnastics. Lauren began competing in December 2019 as a level 2. At her first meet, the Cowtown Classic, Lauren won the vault, bars, and all around titles as well as the silver medal on floor. Throughout the remainder of the year before the season was canceled due to COVID-19, Lauren finished in the top three at all of her meets, and won the all around at all but two meets. Lauren had her best meet of her season at the Arnold Gymnastics Challenge where she won the vault, floor, and all around titles with a 37.550.
As a level 3 in 2021, Lauren began her season at Rubber City Rumble where she earned a bronze medal on floor. At her next meet, Battle of Champions, Lauren won the vault title and came in second on bars and in the all around. Two months later at the Ohio State Championships, Lauren brought home silver medals on vault and beam and finished fourth all around.
Lauren kicked off her 2022 level 4 season at Rubber City Rumble where she won the all around title as well as second on vault, bars, and floor. In February at Elevate the Stage, Lauren won the vault title with a 9.750 and finished second in the all around. Lauren concluded her season at the Ohio State Championships where she won the vault, bars, and all around titles. She also came home with second place on beam and floor.
Currently, Lauren trains 15 hours per week under coach Mikayla Huston at Five Star Gymnastics. In the future, Lauren hopes to continue gymnastics through college.
