Lani Wall got her start in gymnastics at the age of three after her mom noticed she was extremely flexible and put Lani in gymnastics classes. Lani took to the sport right away and has loved it ever since. By the age of six, Lani was invited to join the team program at KPAC and competed Xcel Bronze during the 2016 spring season. As an Xcel Bronze, Lani won the beam title at the North Carolina State Championships.
After competing one year of Xcel, Lani began competing in the JO program and competed level 2 during the 2016 fall season. At her first level 2 meet, Lani won the bars, beam, floor, and all around titles. In December, Lani competed at the North Carolina State Championships where she finished fourth on bars and in the all around. As a level 3 in 2017, Lani improved throughout the season to win the bars and all around titles at state.
Competing level 4 during the 2018 season, Lani began her season at the KPAC Cup in March and took seventh on beam. In November at the North Carolina State Championships, Lani finished fifth on beam. Lani competed a second season of level 4 during the 2019 season and earned a bronze medal on beam at state.
Currently, Lani trains 25 hours per week under coaches Kristie Phillips, Ali Reichert, and Arturo Padilla at KPAC Gymnastics. Lani's goal for the 2021 season is to be prepared to compete level 6 in January. In the future, Lani hopes to compete level 10 and earn a college scholarship for gymnastics.
