Kaelyn Kane got her start in gymnastics at the age of three through the park district. Kaelyn quickly took to gymnastics and began competing in fall 2016 as a level 3. Kaelyn went on to compete in the Illinois State Championships where she earned a bronze medal on vault and finished fifth all around. During the summer of 2017, Kaelyn participated in TOPs Testing as a seven year old and made the TOPs National Diamond Team.
In November 2017, Kaelyn began competing level 4. At her first meet of the season, the Paul Hamm Thanksgiving Classic, Kaelyn won the bars title and earned third all around. Kaelyn continued to improve throughout the season and finished her season at the Illinois State Championships where she earned second on bars. Kaelyn participated in TOPs Testing for a second season during summer 2018. From state testing, Kaelyn qualified to TOPs National Testing and from there made the TOPs National A Team.
Kaelyn began her 2018-2019 level 6 season at the Paul Hamm Thanksgiving Classic. Here, Kaelyn placed in the top 5 on bars and beam. A few months later she competed at the UGA Invitational where she earned vault and bars champion, bronze on floor, and silver in the All Around. Kaelyn continued to improve throughout her Level 6 season qualifying her to the Illinois State Championship where she was the bars and AA State Champion.
In January 2020, Kaelyn began her level 7 season at the UGA Invitational with a bronze on vault. She improved at each meet throughout her season. Kaelyn's season was unfortunately cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Kaelyn kicked off her 2021 season at the Aspire Classic as a level 8 where she won silver on bars. She improved her all around scores at each meet during the season. Kaelyn competed in the Illinois Level 8 State Championship where she won a bronze medal on bars and qualified to Region 5 Championships. Here, Kaelyn completed her season placing top 10 on bars.
Kaelyn started her 2021-2022 season as a level 9 at the Aspire Classic where she placed in the top five on bars and top 10 in the all around. A month later, she competed at the St. Jude Benefit where she earned a bronze medal on bars. Kaelyn earned bronze medals on vault and floor in February at the City of Lights Invitational.
Currently, Kaelyn trains 16.5 hours per week under coaches Diane O'Brien, and Jason and Ashley Enke at Premier West Gymnastics. In the future, Kaelyn's goal is to earn a college scholarship to a division 1 school for gymnastics.
