Jillian Rodriguez got her start in gymnastics at the age of three after watching her sister do gymnastics. Jillian fell in love with the sport right away and began competing at the age of seven as a level 1 with Tumblebees Gymnastics in the fall of 2015. In her first season of competitive gymnastics, Jillian won the vault title and came in second on beam, floor, and in the all around at the Florida State Championships. Jillian competed level 2 during the 2016 season and won the bars and floor titles and came in third on beam and in the all around at state.
Competing level 3 during the 2017 season, Jillian began her season at the Penguin Invite where she won the bars, beam, floor, and all around titles. Throughout the remainder of the season, Jillian finished in the top 3 in the all around. Jillian had a phenomenal performance at the Florida State Championships, winning the bars, beam, floor, and all around titles with a massive 39.225 all around score.
Jillian competed one meet of level 4 in January 2018 and then went on to compete level 7 during the 2019 season. In her first meet as a level 7, Jillian earned a silver medal on beam. Two months later at the Florida State Championships, Jillian took home silver medals on beam and floor and bronze medals on bars and in the all around. From state, Jillian qualified to the Region 8 Championships where she concluded her season with a gold medal winning performance on beam.
As a level 8 in 2020, Jillian began her season at the Sand Dollar Invitational. Here, Jillian took third on bars. Jillian was able to compete two more meets before the season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Currently, Jillian trains 32 hours per week under coaches Carlos Sanchez, Jennifer Karborani, Luis Casals, Luis Zuleta, Olaya Turnez and Alina Adan at Tumblebees Gymnastics. Jillian's goal for her 2022 season is to compete level 9 and score a 38.00 in the all around. In the future, Jillian hopes to qualify elite and earn a college scholarship for gymnastics.
