Isabel Sikon started gymnastics at the age of six after her mom’s friend recommended that Isabel and her sisters take a trial class. Isabel instantly loved gymnastics and was put into a recreational class after her trial. However, Isabel didn’t stay in her recreational class for long and was moved to the team program.

In 2011, Isabel began competing level 4 at the age of seven with Alamo Gymnastics. After her first season, Isabel began training at United Gymnastics Academy. During the Fall 2012 season, Isabel competed level 5. Due to the level/skill change for 2013, Isabel competed level 5 again in 2013 and went on to win the bronze medal in the all around at the Texas State Championships. With added training, Isabel began homeschool in 2013 so she could train during the day. Isabel competed back to back seasons and in the Winter/Spring 2014 season, she competed level 7. Isabel had a great season finishing first on vault and beam at the Region 3 Championships. During the Summer, Isabel participated in TOPs Testing and qualified to National Testing.Isabel began her 2015 level 8 season at the Ricky Deci Invitational where she placed second on floor. Isabel continued to improve throughout the season and made it to the Region 3 Championships.

After her first level 8 season, Isabel’s family moved and she went back to training at Alamo. During the 2016 season, Isabel competed level 8 for a second year and had an even better season finishing third on floor at the Texas State Championships. Isabel also had a great meet at Regionals where she finished third on beam. Following her second level 8 season, Isabel began training at Love Gymnastics and began training for her 2017 level 9 season as well as Hopes. At Isabel’s first meet of the season, the Texas Prime Meet, she placed fifth all around. Isabel competed in her first Hopes qualifier at the Brestyan’s Las Vegas Invitational where she placed in the top 25 on vault. Isabel also competed at the KPAC Cup Hopes qualifier and finished third on beam and seventh all around. While Isabel was competing Hopes, she was also competing level 9 and right after the KPAC Cup the went on to compete at the Texas Level 9 State Meet. At State, Isabel finished fifth on floor and qualified to Regionals. Isabel had a great meet at Regionals finishing second on beam and fourth all around, qualifying to Westerns. Isabel had her best meet of the season at Westerns where she walked away with the bronze medal on beam. Isabel concluded her season at the Parkettes Hopes Qualifier where she placed fifth on beam.

Isabel began her 2018 level 10 season at the Chow's Challenge Invitational where she placed sixth all around. Isabel continued to improve her all around score throughout the season and placed sixth on vault at the Texas State Championships. From the Region 3 Championships, Isabel qualified to JO Nationals.

Currently, Isabel trains 32 hours per week under coaches Mike Harris and Wenjing Wang. In the future, Isabel’s goal is to compete internationally and receive a Division I gymnastics scholarship.
