Holly Allen was born on March 20, 2005, to Becky and Paul Allen. Holly got her start in gymnastics at 18 months old in a mommy and me class. Holly took to gymnastics quickly and moved up through the levels as she got older and progressed.
Holly began competing in September 2012 as a level 4 with Elite Gymnastics Academy of San Diego. At her first meet, the Judges Cup South, Holly won the floor title and finished third all around. Holly finished her 2012 season at the SoCal South State Championships where she placed in the top 15 on vault and beam. Due to the USAG skill/level change, Holly competed a second year of level 4 in 2013. Holly had a solid season, finishing sixth on vault and all around at the SoCal South Sectional Championships and finished her season at the SoCal South State Championships.
Holly competed her last season of compulsories as a level 5 in 2014. Holly completed her level 5 season at the SoCal South State Championships where she finished ninth on vault and tenth all around.
Holly’s optional career began in January 2015 as a level six at the OC Classic. Here, Holly won the floor title and placed second all around. Holly had a great season and went on to earn a silver medal on beam and bronze medals on floor and in the all around at the SoCal State Championships. In 2016 as a level 7, Holly made it to the Region 1 Championships where she had a fantastic meet and won the floor title with a 9.775 and took third all around.
In 2017, Holly competed level 8. Holly improved throughout the season and at the SoCal State Championships, she placed sixth on beam and seventh on floor, qualifying to the Region 1 Championships. Holly had another solid meet at Regionals and came home with a fourth place finish on floor. Holly competed a second year of level 8 in 2018. At the SoCal State Championships, Holly finished eighth on vault and qualified to regionals. At regionals, Holly earned a bronze medal on beam and finished in the top 10 in the all around.
Holly kicked off her 2019 season as a level 8 at the San Francisco Classic where she took third on vault, floor, and in the all around. Two months later at the SoCal State Championships, Holly finished seventh on beam and qualified to the Region 1 Championships where she concluded her season as a silver medalist on floor.
Currently, Holly trains 16.5 hours per week under coaches Greg McCalester and Carrie Pohlman at Elite Gymnastics Academy of San Diego. In the future, Holly hopes to compete at the collegiate level.
