Auburn traveled down to Gainesville to face off against the Florida Gators in an attempt to keep their SEC win streak alive, with both teams heading into the meet he only undefeated squads in SEC conference matchups thus far this season.
The underdog Auburn Tigers jumped out to an early lead after a very solid uneven bar rotation, scoring a 49.375, with a 9.900 from senior Abby Milliet the high. Florida’s vault rotation scored right under Auburn with a 49.35, with Alicia Boren nailing her Yurchenko one-and-a-half for a 9.925.
In the second rotation, Auburn lost their lead after struggling on vault landings, scoring just a 48.925. Florida was strong on bars, with freshman Trinity Thomas scoring a huge 9.950 to lead the 49.425 rotation to take the lead at the halfway mark.
Auburn moved to floor in the third rotation, with Milliet and Gracie Day ending the rotation with huge 9.925s to bring their running total to a 147.775 with one to go. Florida scored 49.425 on beam to have a running total of 148.2 heading into the final rotation, with a trio of 9.900s from Boren, Rachel Gowey, and anchor Alyssa Baumann leading the rotation.
Auburn ended their meet on the balance beam, scoring a 48.925 to give the Tigers a final score of 196.7, a score that they know could have been higher but that serves a good road score nonetheless. It was the Gators who took home the home win, finishing with a 197.775 after a huge 49.625 floor rotation led by a 9.975 from Thomas.
