Emery Miller got her start in gymnastics at the age of four after being given a gift certificate for a recreational gymnastics class. Emery loved gymnastics right away and quickly began progressing even at a young age. Emery began competing in January 2018 at the age of five with Platinum Gymnastics. The same year, Emery made it to the SoCal State Championships where she finished eighth on vault.
Following her level 3 season, Emery began training at Paramount Elite Gymnastics. Due to Emery having an October birthday and her not turning seven until October, the first three meets Emery competed in were counted as exhibition routines and she was not eligible for any awards. Emery competed in her first "official" level 4 meet one week after her seventh birthday. Here, Emery won the vault title and finished third on bars and in the all around. Three weeks later, Emery went on to earn a silver medal on vault at the SoCal State Championships. Emery competed two meets of level 4 during the spring 2020 season, both of which she won the vault, bars, floor, and all around titles at. Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Emery was unable to participate in TOPs Testing or the fall 2020 season as both were canceled.
Currently, Emery trains 20 hours per week under coaches Liang, Kevin and Melissa at Paramount Elite Gymnastics. Emery's goal for 2020 is to earn a 38.00 in the all around and qualify for TOPs National Testing. In the future, Emery hopes to qualify elite and earn a college scholarship for gymnastics.
