Elliana Mayer got her start in gymnastics at the of two after she was caught doing handstands in her crib at just 18 months old and loved flipping around the house. Elliana quickly took to gymnastics and began competing in fall 2016 as a level 3. At her first meet, the Paul Hamm Thanksgiving Classic, Elliana placed in the top 5 on floor and in the all around. Elliana competed level 3 through the 2017 spring season and went on the place fourth on floor at the Illinois State Championships. In the summer of 2017, Elliana participated in TOPs Testing and made the TOPs National Diamond Team.
During the 2017-2018 season, Elliana competed level 4. At her first meet of the season, Elliana earned third on bars. Elliana continued to improve throughout the season and finished third on bars at the Illinois State Championships. During summer 2018, Elliana participated in TOPs Testing for a second season. Elliana qualified to TOPs National Testing and made the TOPs National B Team.
Elliana began her optional career as a level 6 in 2019 at the Paul Hamm Thanksgiving Classic where she placed third on beam. Throughout the season, Elliana continued to improve and went on to place second on bars and fifth on beam at the Illinois State Championships. During the summer of 2019, Elliana participated in TOPs Testing for a third year. Elliana had a fantastic TOPs season, making it to TOPs National Testing and earning a spot on the TOPs National A Team.
Competing level 7 during the 2019-2020 season, Elliana began her season at the Aspire Classic where she finished fifth on beam. Elliana improved throughout the season and had her best performance of her season at the UGA Invitational where she earned a silver medal on beam and a bronze in the all around with a 37.575. Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Elliana's season was cut short as the remainder of the season was canceled.
Competing level 8 during the 2020-2021 season, Elliana began her season at the Aspire Classic. Here, Elliana won the beam title.
Currently, Elliana trains 17 hours per week under coaches Diane O’Brien and Jason and Ashley Enke at Premier West Gymnastics. In the future, Elliana's goal is to qualify elite.
