Cherrish Remy got her start in gymnastics at the age of two and a half after trying a pre school gymnastics class and loving it. By the age of six, Cherrish began competing as a level 3 with Metro South Gymnastics Academy. At her very first meet, Cherrish won the vault title and came in fifth on bars. One month later, Cherrish competed at the Massachusetts State Championships where she finished 11th on vault.
Cherrish competed a second season of level 3 during the 2016-2017 season and went on to take fifth on vault and sixth all around at state. As a level 4 during the 2017-2018 season, Cherrish began her season at the Pilgrim Invitational and finished sixth all around. Cherrish improved throughout the season and finished fourth on vault and in the top 10 on beam and in the all around at the Massachusetts State Championships.
Cherrish competed her final season of compulsories during the 2018-2019 season as a level 5. At her first level 5 meet, Cherrish won the bars title and took third on vault and in the all around. Cherrish continued to have a great season and went on to win the vault title and take fifth on bars at state.
Cherrish began her optional career as a level 7 in December 2019 at the Yellow Jackets Holiday Invitational. Here, Cherrish won the bars title with a 9.650 and came in seventh all around. Cherrish had her best meet of the season at the Centre Elite Classic in January 2020 where she came in second on beam and third on bars and in the all around. Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Cherrish's season was cut short as the remainder of the season was canceled.
Currently, Cherrish trains 19.5 hours per week under coaches Laura Buczek, Chad Buczek, Holly Crotty and Jacqui Olsen at Metro South Gymnastics Academy. Cherrish's goal for the 2021 season to to earn first place all around at a competition. In the future, Cherrish hopes to earn a college scholarship for gymnastics.
