Cali Rhodes got her start in gymnastics at 18 months old in mommy and me classes as she was always bouncing around as a baby. Cali loved being in the gym from the beginning and as she got older she progressed through classes and was eventually invited to join the team program at Gymnastic Center of Hershey.
Cali began competing in November 2019 as a level 2. At her first meet, the Tim Weaver Battlefield Invitational, Cali finished third on vault and floor. In February at the Hug and Kiss Meet, Cali nearly swept the meet winning the vault, bars, beam, and all around titles. Unfortunately, one month later, the remainder of the season was canceled due to COVID-19.
Competing level 3 during the 2021 season, Cali began her season at the Katie Baldwin Invitational. Here, Cali won the beam, floor, and all around titles. Cali had her best meet of her season at the Flip Flop Invitational where she won the vault tile with a perfect 10.000 as well as the bars, floor, and all around titles. At her next meet, Got States? Cali swept the competition, winning all four events and the all around title. In May at the Pennsylvania State Championships, Cali came home with gold medals on vault, beam, floor, and in the all around and came home with a silver medal on bars.
Following her 2021 level 3 season, Cali began training at Artistic Sports Academy Plus. Cali competed her first level 5 meet of the season at the Christmas City Classic in December 2021. Here, Cali won the vault title. In January at the Janet Rothenberg Memorial Invitational, Cali won the vault and all around titles.
Cali kicked off her 2022 season as a level 5 at the Janet Rothenberg Memorial meet where she won vault and all around and earned bronze medals on bars, beam & floor.She continued to earn many medals throughout her season and qualified to level 5 Pennsylvania State Championships. Here, Cali won vault and won in the all around.
Currently, Cali trains 12 hours per week under coaches Taylor & Charlie Werner. Cali's goal for her 2022 season is to get her giants on bars and a full twist on floor. In the future, Cali hopes to compete for a college gymnastics program.
