Breanna Denson got her start in gymnastics at 18 months old in mommy and me classes and participated in these classes until she turned three. Breanna loved being in the gym, but her parents wanted her to try other sports in addition to gymnastics. Breanna tried dance, t-ball, and cheerleading but ultimately decided she didn't love those other sports as much as she did gymnastics. At the age of six, Breanna started taking recreational classes twice per week for about a year before she was invited to join the pre-team program at Gymstrada Gymnastics.

Breanna began competing in December 2016 as an Xcel Bronze. At her first meet, Breanna finished in the top 10 in the all around. In May 2017 at the Virginia State Championships, Breanna came in the top 10 on beam. Breanna competed her first season of level 3 during the 2017-2018 season and began her season at the Richmond Fall Classic where she took sixth on beam. Breanna had one of her best meets of her season in February at the Flip For The Fight Invitational and came in second on vault and in the all around as well as third on beam. Two months later, Breanna concluded her season at the Virginia State Championships where she had a solid competition.

Following her 2017-2018 season, Breanna began training at Coastal Point Gymnastics. Breanna competed a second year of level 3 during the 2018-2019 season and began her season at the Yuletide Invitational where she came in the top 10 on all four events and in the all around. At her next meet, the Ocean Tumblers Beach Meet, Breanna earned silver medals on all four events and in the all around. In May at the Virginia State Championships, Breanna came in seventh all around with a 37.200.

Breanna began her 2019-2020 level 4 season at the Christmas on the Chesapeake meet. here, Breanna came home with a bronze medal on bars as well as fifth on floor and in the all around. Breanna continued to improve her all around score throughout the season and was able to compete four more meets before the season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

After her 2019-2020 season, Breanna began training at World Class Gymnastics. Breanna competed a second year of level 4 during the 2020-2021 season and began her season at the World Class In House Meet where she came in third on floor. In February at the Excalibur Cup, Breanna won the bars, beam, and all around titles. Three months later at the Virginia State Championships, Breanna earned silver medals on beam, floor, and in the all around as well as bronze medals on vault and bars.

Currently, Breanna trains 20 hours per week under coaches Ginny Duke, Casey Overton, and Nicole Marshall at World Class Gymnastics. Breanna's goals for her 2022 season are to improve her vault score, score a 38.00 in the all around, and win a state title. In the future, Breanna's goal is to earn a college scholarship for gymnastics or acro and tumbling.
