Ava Brumbaugh got her start in gymnastics at the age of four in a recreational class. Ava quickly progressed and began competing in 2017 as a level 3 with Texas Dreams Gymnastics. At her first meet, the District 2 Qualifier, Ava had a fantastic meet and won the bars, beam, floor, and all around titles. Three months later at the Texas North State Championships, Ava took third place on beam and fourth on vault and in the all around.
Ava began training with Texas Best Gymnastics and began competing level 7 in 2019. Ava opened up her season at the WOGA Classic where she finished fifth on beam and fourth all around. Ava continued to improve throughout the season and had a fantastic meet at the Texas State Championships, taking third all around with a 38.225 and qualifying to the Region 3 Championships. Ava concluded her season at the Region 3 Championships where she had a solid meet, taking fourth on bars and eighth all around. During the summer of 2019, Ava participated in TOPs Testing. From state testing, Ava qualified for National Testing. Ava had a great National Testing and qualified as one of the top 100 gymnasts in the TOPs program, earning a spot on the TOPs National B Team.
Competing level 8 in 2020, Ava began her season at the Metroplex Challenge where she finished third on bars and fourth in the all around. Throughout the season, Ava finished in the top 3 on bars. Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Ava's season was cut short as the remainder of the season was cancelled.
Currently, Ava trains 24 hours per week under coach Lacy Crone at Texas Best Gymnastics. Ava is hoping to score above a 38.00 at her fist regionals. In the future, Ava's goal is to qualify elite, represent Team USA at the 2028 Olympics, and earn a college scholarship for gymnastics.
