Ana Villela got her start in gymnastics at the age of seven after attending a gymnastics camp with a friend. Ana began competing in fall 2015 as a level 3 with San Diego United Training Center. After her first season of level 3, Ana began training at Elite Gymnastics Academy. During the fall of 2016, Ana competed a second year of level 3 and went on to win the vault, beam, floor and all around titles at the SoCal South State Championships.
In fall 2017, Ana competed level 4. Ana began her season at the SoCal Judges Cup South where she won the bars title and placed fourth all around. Ana continued to have a great level 4 season and finished her season at the SoCal South State Championships finishing fourth on beam and floor and fifth all around.
Ana competed her last year of compulsories, level 5, during the fall 2018 season. Ana had a solid level 5 season and had her highlight competition at the Butterfly Classic where she won the vault, beam, floor, and all around titles. At state, she placed first on bars and second on vault and in the all around.
Ana began her 2019 season as a level 7 at the San Francisco Classic where she took second on vault and floor. Halfway through the season, Ana began competing level 6. At the SoCal State Championships, Ana won the floor title and brought home silver medals on vault and in the all around as well as bronze medals on bars and beam.
Currently, Ana trains 17 hours per week as a level 7 gymnast under coaches Greg McCalester, Carrie Pohlman, and Sam Bassett at Elite Gymnastics Academy. In the future, Ana's goal is to compete in college gymnastics.
