Amaiya Hunter got her start in gymnastics at the age of 5 in recreational classes. Amaiya took to the sport right away and was soon invited to join the team program at All Pro Gymnastics.

Kicking off her level two season, Amaiya competed at the Maryland Judges Invitational in October of 2018 where she placed in the top ten on bars. Later on in the season, she competed at Battle at the Beach in May of 2019. Here, she placed fourth on beam and bars and placed in the top ten in the all around. Starting off her second season of level two, she competed at the Maryland Judges Invitational in November of 2019. Here, she placed first on floor, fourth in all around, and fifth on beam. Three months later, Amaiya competed at the Fantasy Invitational in February of 2020 where she placed first on floor, second on beam, and third all around.

Starting her level three season in January 2021, Amaiya competed at the Dream Big Invitational where she placed in the top ten on vault. Amaiya finished off her level three season at the Maryland State Championships in May. Here, she placed first on floor and all around, third on vault, and fourth on bars.

Currently, Amaiya trains 10 hours per week under coaches Katie and Shelby at All Pro Gymnastics. Amaiya's goal for her 2022 season is to get her aerial, standing back tuck, and finish level 4 with a 38 in all around. In the future, Amaiya hopes to go to Towson University for Gymnastics.
