Biography
Allison Torres got her start in gymnastics at the age of eight in a recreational class. Allison loved gymnastics right away and began competing as an Xcel Silver at the age of nine. At Allison's first meet, the Hudson Valley Winter Classic, Allison won the vault, beam, and all around titles. Two months later at the New York State Championships, Allison brought home gold medals on beam and in the all around. From state, Allison advanced to the Region 6 Championships where she finished seventh on vault.
Allison competed a second season of Xcel Silver in 2017 and began her season at Cirque De Galaxy. Here, Allison won the beam, floor, and all around titles. Allison remained undefeated throughout the remainder of the season and in March at the New York State Championships, Allison swept all four events and the all around title with a 39.00. For the second year, Allison qualified to the Region 6 Championships and earned silver medals on vault, floor, and in the all around.
Competing Xcel Gold in 2018, Allison began her season at the Sweetheart Invitational where she won the vault, bars, beam, and all around titles. Allison remained undefeated in the all around throughout the season. At state, Allison won the vault, beam, floor, and all around titles. Two months later at regionals, Allison won the floor and all around titles.
Coming off of a phenomenal Xcel Gold season, Allison competed her first Xcel Platinum meet in January 2019 at the Hudson Winter Valley Classic where she won all four events and the all around title. Allison brought home her fourth state championship all around title in March in addition to the bars and floor titles. Allison concluded her season at the Region 6 Championships and finished first on vault and third all around.
As a second year Xcel Platinum in 2020, Allison began her season at the Hudson Valley Winter Classic where she won the vault, bars, beam, and all around titles. Allison was able to compete three mets of Xcel Platinum during the 2020 season and came home with the vault, bars, and all around titles at all three competitions. Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Allison's season was cut short as the remainder of the season was cancelled.
Allison started off her 2021 season at the New York Cup where she won gold on all events and the all around with a 38.425. She continued to have a great meet season and qualified to the Xcel State Championships where she won gold on vault with a 9.800, gold on bars with a 9.700, gold on floor with a 9.725 & AA gold with a 38.400. Allison then qualified to the Region 6 Xcel Regional Championships where she had her best meet, winning gold on all events and her highest AA score of 38.675.
Allison Started her 2022 season at the Cirque de Galaxy meet winning first place in every event and all around with a 39.000.
Currently, Allison trains 12 hours per week under coach John Smales at Kennett Gymnastics. Allison's goal for her 2021 season is to qualify to the Region 6 Championships. In the future, Allison's goal is to compete for a college gymnastics team.
