Alexa Venglar began gymnastics at the age of three in a toddler class. Alexa loved it right away, and quickly progressed. In fall 2013, Alexa began competing level 2 with Iron Cross Gymnastics. Alexa had a great first season of gymnastics and moved up to level 3 the next season. As a level 3, Alexa won the bars and floor titles and placed second all around at the Texas South State Championships. In 2015, Alexa competed level 4 and went on to place second on vault, beam, and in the all around at the Texas South State Championship. From there, Alexa moved on to the Texas State Championships where she placed fourth on floor and sixth on bars. Alexa competed just one meet of level 5 in 2016 at the Houston National Invitational where she took home silver medals on vault, beam, and floor, and bronze medals on bars and in the all around.
Alexa began her optional career in 2017 as a level 6 at the Texas Prime Meet. Here, Alexa won the vault title, placed second on floor, and third all around. Alexa continued to improve throughout the season and finished her season at the Texas State Championships where she placed second on vault, third on bars, and fourth in the all around. During the summer of 2017, Alexa participated in TOPs Testing and made the TOPs National B Team.
Skipping level 7, Alexa competed her first level 8 meet in January 2018 at the Chow's Challenge. Here, Alexa finished in the top 10 on vault, bars, and in the all around. Alexa completed her season at the Texas State Championships. During the summer, Alexa participated in another season of TOPs and had a fantastic national testing, making the TOPs National A Team.
Currently, Alexa trains 32 hours per week under coaches Nick Cedillo, Tasha Beale, and Tony Pineda at Pearland Elite Gymnastics. Alexa's goal for the 2019 season is to earn her elite compulsory score.
