Adelyn Tep got her start in gymnastics at the age of four with her cousin. Adelyn began competing in 2016 as an Xcel Gold. Adelyn made it to the Georgia State Championships where she finished eighth on vault. Adelyn competed a second year of Xcel Gold in 2017 and at the Georgia State Championships, she placed fourth on bars and floor. Adelyn also qualified to the Region 8 Championships where she came away with a bronze medal on beam and placed sixth all around. In 2021 Adelyn competed at the Charleston Cup as a level 9 and finished top 10 on floor.
Following her 2017 Xcel Gold season, Adelyn began training at Georgia Elite Gymnastics. Adelyn competed one meet of level 4 in fall 2017 where she placed third on floor and in the all around. Adelyn also competed one meet of level 5 where she earned the silver medal on beam. Adelyn’s optional career began as a level 6 at the Atlanta Crown Invitational. Adelyn had a fantastic meet and won the bars, beam, and all around titles. Throughout the season, Adelyn continued be solid on all four events and went on to compete at the Georgia State Championships where she won the beam title and placed second on floor. For the second year, Adelyn qualified to the Region 8 Championships and had the best meet of her season! Adelyn placed third on beam with a 9.725 and third all around with a 37.800.
Adelyn began her 2019 level 7 season at The Gala where she won the beam title and finished third all around. Two months later at the Georgia State Championships, Adelyn took second on beam and seventh all around and qualified to the Region 8 Championships. Adelyn concluded her season at Regionals as a bronze medalist on beam.
Competing level 8 in 2020, Adelyn began her season at the Atlanta Crown Invitational. Here, Adelyn had a great season opener and came home with the all around title. Adelyn was able to compete four meets during the 2020 season and had her best meet of her season at the National Gymnastic Challenge where she won the bars, beam, and all around titles. Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Adelyn's season was cut short as the remainder of the season was cancelled.
Currently, Adelyn trains 16 hours per week under coaches John Young, Ashley Sellers, Janessa Davis, Doug, and Elena at Georgia Elite Gymnastics. In the future, Adelyn hopes to qualify elite and earn a college scholarship for gymnastics.
