Addison Collins got her start in gymnastics at the age of two in a mommy and me class. In her mommy and me class, the team director approached Addison and her mom and asked if Addison would try out for the team program once she was old enough. Addison begin training at the age of 3 and then moved to Poway Gymnastics in Poway, CA where she joined the Junior Pre-Team and Pre-Team through March 2018.
Addison and her family moved to Arizona in March 2018 and Addison began training at Arizona Dynamics, Chandler location. Addison made the level 2 JO team at Dynamics and competed level 2 during the fall 2018 season. Addison went on to earn a silver medal on beam at the Arizona State Championships.
As a new level 3 JO as of December of 2018 (after level 2 JO Fall Season), Addison began her pre-season as a level 3 with some fun meets to get her acclimated for the level 3 2019 fall Season. She finished the Fiesta Bowl Invitational as a new level 3, where she finished ninth all around and completing all 4 events. Addison continued to improve at each and every meet throughout the season and finished at the Arizona State Championships earning gold medals on bars, beam, and in the all around with a huge 38.950.
Addison began her level 4 pre-season at another fun meet, the 2020 Fiesta Bowl Invitational. Addison was able to finish the spring portion of her 2020 season, but unfortunately had to miss out on the fall portion of the season including the state championships due to it being canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Currently, Addison trains 17 hours per week under coaches Jay, Alyssa, Kim, Michelle, Morgan, Ally, and Kaeli at Arizona Dynamics Gymnastics. Addison's goal for her 2021 season is to compete level 5 and score a 39.00 in the all around. In the future, Addison hopes to score a 10.0 on any event, qualify to regionals and JO Nationals, and earn a college scholarship for gymnastics.
