Ada Reece got her start in gymnastics at the age of three when she took a class at The Little Gym for about a year. When her mom asked Ada if she wanted to sign up for another year, Ada replied, “No! I want to learn real gymnastics!” So her mom took her to Seattle Gymnastics Academy, and Ada loved it. Ada started competing in January 2012 as a level 4 at seven years old. Due to the USA Gymnastics level-skill change, Ada competed level 4 during the 2013 season and went on to win five gold medals at Level 4 Sectionals. Two weeks later, she went on to place second all around at the Washington State Championships.
In 2014, Ada competed one meet of level 5 and then moved up to level 6 where she placed fourth on bars at the State Championships. In 2015 as a level 7, Ada had a great season where she placed in the top five on vault, bars, and in the all around at state. Coming off a fantastic level 7 season, Ada went on to have an even better level 8 season. At her first meet of the season, Ada placed second on floor and first all around. Ada continued to improved throughout the season, placing fourth on bars, floor, and in the all around at state. Ada also qualified to regionals where she took home the gold on bars and beam, and placed second all around.
Following her 2016 level 8 season, Ada began training at Gymnastics East. Ada competed level 9 during the 2017 season where she won the bars title and placed third all around at the Region 2 Championships, qualifying to the 2017 Western National Championships. At Westerns, Ada placed in the top 10 on beam.
Ada began her 2018 level 10 season at the Charity Choice Invitational where she earned bronze medals on beam and floor. In 2019, Ada began her season at the All American Invitational where she finished sixth on beam. Two months later, Ada concluded her season at the Washington State Championships and took sixth on bars and tenth all around.
Currently, Ada trains 25 hours per week under coaches Ian and Casey Campbell at Gymnastics East. In the future, Ada hopes to earn a division 1 gymnastics scholarship.
